Henry and Eleanor had a surprise visit from Uncle B on Sunday for an early birthday celebration. They were both super excited and had a bunch of fun, especially in Henry’s room where he invented a game where Henry and Eleanor stood on his bed and threw stuffed animals onto the floor, and Uncle B and Aunt Breanne threw them back onto the bed. When the timer went off, the kiddos were the winners with more stuffies on the floor than left on the bed. It was a great way to finish off a busy weekend, with birthday parties on Friday and Saturday, and a school picnic on Sunday along with Eleanor’s piano recital. It was a bit hot and sticky for the picnic, but they kids had a good time and enjoyed some ice cream treats. Eleanor’s recital was a bit of a struggle – she was pretty nervous and only got a few notes out before she was ready to be done. Maybe next time!
Earlier in the week, Eleanor’s class had a field trip and Mamma got do go along. There was a lot of interest from parents to chaperone this particular trip, because the destination was the Fermi Lab – but it turned out that the weren’t looking at the particle accelerator, instead they were bug hunting in the nature preserve above it!
