This week Eleanor took advantage of the good weather with lots of trips to the park – and lots of mac and cheese! She has also been working on her crawling and climbing technique. She has always preferred walking to crawling, but this has posed a problem for things like crawling tunnels. She tries to stand up i them, and hits her head and gets stuck. This week, she made it all the way through the crawling tunnel at music class by herself for the first time – and only stood up once! She has been practicing her climbing on the slide stairs at the park – and the practice is showing. She can now climb the stairs at home all by herself – she made it up an entire flight this week unassisted. She also made impressive progress at her swim class, completing a 5 second underwater “swim”, and graduating to “Level 2”. I thought it seemed a bit odd to have swimming “levels” for people unable to keep themselves afloat – but she is definitely getting used to the pool.
Mom has decided that the “Ma Ma” and “Da Da” noises are officially words with meaning now – although I’m still not sure which one came first.
On a sad note, one of her favorite books was a casulty this week – we think she dropped it out of her crib during a nap, and in the process of trying to retrieve it, ripped it into a number of pieces. Poor sheep flap. Baaaaaaaa.
