Legoland and more!

Eleanor and Henry had a fun week off of school, and to celebrate we headed down to Florida to visit Legoland, Kennedy Space Center and Universal Studios. The first stop was Legoland, and the kids had a blast checking out all of the Lego themed things at our hotel. The park had a number of fun rides, Eleanor really loved two of the roller coasters, and Henry was a big fan of the water ride where you got to squirt other riders and bystanders with your own water gun. Next up was Kennedy Space Center – definitely Dad’s favorite part of the trip. We got to see a the Shuttle Atlantis, a Saturn V rocket, the Apollo 14 capsule and space suite, one of the side boosters from the first Falcon Heavy launch, the Vehicle Assembly building and two crawler transporters. Finally, we finished at Universal Studios spending a couple days exploring the park. Eleanor was excited that she was tall enough for one of the big roller coasters, her first upside down coaster! Henry wasn’t quite tall enough, but he was a big fan of the log ride. Both kids loved the Dr. Seuss Land and Curious George play park. Eleanor was sure that she wasn’t going to get wet – but next thing we knew she was soaked and standing right in the water stream. The least favorite rides for both kids were the 3d/4d action rides, they both thought they were too scary, especially the Lego Ninjago, Simpsons and Harry Potter rides.

Once we returned home, we had a fun visit with Papa! Immediately after greeting Papa at the door with a hug, Eleanor went off to find a bucket that she could fit in to do bucket rides! Poor Papa may never live down his role as bucket ride provider. We had a nice dinner and a game of clue, and then Papa and Eleanor had a sleepover while Henry and Lala did a sleepover in Henry’s room.

Phew – what a week! It’s gonna be tough to get back in to the routine tomorrow!
