Pumpkin Carving!

We finally got around to carving our pumpkins this weekend – we had to get some emergency replacements as the pumpkins that we got a the pumpkin patch rotted after only a few days. Henry wanted to carve a scary pumpkin, and Eleanor wanted to carve a cat. We are looking forward to Halloween – hopefully it isn’t too cold! We also had an open house at school this week, both Henry and Eleanor had a chance to take us through their classrooms and show us all that they have been up to for the last month or so. Henry was especially proud of a book that he had written, and Eleanor was excited to show us her laptop and all the fun things she is doing with that. They were both excited to show us the science classroom as well – this is Henry’s first year having science in the science room and he is really excited for it. Over the weekend we had soccer games for both kiddos, and it was super cold. It was so windy that the ball was moving on its own and the nets were blowing over! Eleanor was really proud that she received the sportsmanship medal for her team this week, and her team almost won! The broke out to a 3-0 lead, but then the other team came roaring back and it ended in a 3-3 tie (all goals were scored going downwind….). Still, they were excited at their first non-loss. We got Henry some rollerblades and he took to it right away. He is really excited to skate around and wants to get good enough to join a hockey team!
