It has been a busy two weeks for Eleanor and Henry. We had a dentist appointment, Zoo Lights, the Tree Lighting Parade – including dinner at Benihana, and finally Thanksgiving. The kids favorite part of Zoo Lights was definitely the cookie decorating, where Henry liberally applied the iceing to the entire cookie. We were also lucky to run into some friends from school, so that made the decorating that much more fun. On Saturday, we went to the Tree Lighting Parade, and got to see about an hour of the parade before it was time to head to Benihana for dinner. There were several Disney floats, and a giant Rudolf, along with some bands and a float from Garret Popcorn that actually sent popcorn flying out of its top. Dinner was fantastic as usual at Benihana, Eleanor discovered that she likes the soup, and Henry got a combination of shrimp and sushi.
Next, it was off to Grandma and Grandpa’s house for Thanksgiving. We recreated last year’s football match – an abbreviated game on Thursday due to the cold, followed by a full session on Friday. Henry was excited to catch a touchdown pass, and Eleanor completed several passes as quarterback. Amazingly, only one extra point was successfully kicked.
