Happy Memorial Day!

Eleanor and Henry had a fun memorial day weekend with a trip to a Chicago Fire soccer game and a cookout in our back yard. Earlier in the week, Henry’s class had a field trip to the Nature Museum, followed by a picnic lunch at the zoo. Parents were invited to join lunch, and then the kids were free to explore the zoo and head home. We made a point of visiting the gorillas because there is a newborn baby who was fun to see. Eleanor lost another tooth – she had been working on it for several days, and in fact it was keeping her up at night wiggling it back and forth, so Mom and Dad were glad to see it finally come out. As usual for sporting events, the kids favorite part was the snacks – Eleanor had cotton candy and Henry got ice cream nachos.

Sunday was our cookout, and it was Henry’s turn to be in charge. He made the menu, took the orders, and served the food. He decided to call his restaurant Chili Dog, despite us not having chili or hot dogs on the menu. He made menus on dry erase boards that he could carry and show to everyone. After dinner, the kiddos made some fun pictures on the boards and did a little art show.

On Monday, Eleanor had a playdate with her friends Lindsay and Hannah, and they had fun running a lemonade stand.
