Henry and Eleanor finished up the school year and were excited to start summer vacation. We had a chance to go into Eleanor’s classroom and see her final project about the Chicago skyline. She researched several of her favorite buildings and then created clay models of them. Eleanor also had a sleepover with her friend Lincoln and a fun birthday party for Lyla at a candy shop.
As a family we went to a Cubs game on the first day after school got out – and we sat in the bleachers for the first time with the kiddos. They had a good time, but it got a little too hot. The highlights were definitely the food – hot dogs and cotton candy and ice cream. Uncle B and Lincoln joined us for the game, and Henry made it all the way to the end of the 6th before we decided to head out and cool off. We also rediscovered the board game Hotels, and Henry, Eleanor and Dad played several rounds.
