This week Eleanor and Henry celebrated Dad’s birthday with a trip to Benihana for a tasty dinner. Everyone left with a full belly and clothes that smelled like smoke and shrimp! We had to move dinner to one day late due to the school play – so for actual birthday dinner Dad had a Taco Bell feast!
All week the kids had half days, with parent teacher conferences scheduled for the afternoons. To fill in the gap, there was an optional school play that we convinced both kiddos to sign up for. They weren’t too excited about it at first, but ended up having a good time. The play was “The Snow Queen”, and Eleanor got the part of Hobgoblin #8, and Henry as Bear #2. They each had a few lines, as well as a couple of songs to learn. On Friday they put on two performances which were fantastic. It was really amazing what they could accomplish with just four days of practice. Hopefully we will have some video to post later so that everyone can watch the whole thing. Till then, you will have to pick them out in their costumes. Henry is one of the bears (light brown fur) and Eleanor is dressed a bit like a jester – she is the one with the brown hat, red shirt and blue collar.
Looking forward to Thanksgiving with Mimi and Papa and our cousins!
