Henry celebrated his birthday this week with a string trail and sushi dinner. The string trail required more string than ever before, as Henry requested an “advanced trail”. He solved it easily, which was good because then we had to head off to school. Dinner was fun, they brought Henry a desert with a small roman candle in it – spouting sparks as it was delivered.
Over the weekend we had some fun activities. First we did some ice skating with Eleanor’s friend Scarlet – how funny to be ice skating in 60 degree weather! We also checked out a new bike path that our neighbor suggested – it was a five mile path around a nearby lake. It was relatively flat and very fun. Henry especially was excited about it and already wants to go back again. Henry also had his first sushi hand roll – basically a sushi burrito. For now, I think he prefers regular rolls, but it was pretty fun watching him eat the hand roll.
