Lala!

Eleanor and Henry were excited to have Lala in town all week! They loved getting to relax and hang out at home with Lala, playing Legos and watching cake videos – but we also managed to get out and do a few things that had been on our wishlist. First up was a hike in Mission Trails park – we had initially planned to hike up to one of the five peaks (around 1500 feet) but we had so much fun exploring the trail and wilderness that we had to turn back about halfway so that we didn’t miss lunch. Hopefully next time we will make it to the top! Next up was a sailing on a Hobie Cat in Mission Bay, which had been on Dad and Eleanor’s to do list for quite some time. We had a beautiful afternoon with some good wind, and everyone seemed to have a good time. Both kiddos even got a chance to captain the boat.

Not pictured was our fun kayak trip to the La Jolla caves. No one wanted to get their phone out for fear of dropping it into the ocean, but I did snap some video on the splashproof camera that I’ll hopefully post soon. Henry’s favorite part of this trip was the sea lions – which were having a very relaxing day sleeping on the rocks. After all that fun, we decided to have a quite weekend at home to keep away from the crowds, so we ordered in some food and had our friends Ally and Squatch come over for a visit. In case you were wondering – Henry wasn’t being punished by sitting all by himself, he just got hot outside and wanted to sit in the shade.
