Eleanor turned 15 months old today! She started the week by celebrating Halloween at her friend’s house, where they close the street for a few hours so that kids can trick-or-treat. They had a beautiful golden retriever who Eleanor was pleased to meet. Instead of trick-or-treating, Eleanor preferred to just step up and down off the curb. For those of you counting, this was Eleanor’s third time in costume this Halloween. During the week, Eleanor really enjoyed her slide. She can now climb up and slide down all by herself – although the learning process wan’t without a few bumps. She also set a new record stacking blocks five high – although as Mom pointed out, Dad appeared to be the only one who was excited about that. Eleanor is also making a lot of progress verbally, she will put two words together now with meaning, like “uh-hu, Dada”, meaning, “Yes, I would like to build another tower, and I would like Dada to stack the blocks”. Some new words include off and ash – which is a bit of a strange one but comes from singing “Ring around the Rosie”. Still no luck with the “e” sound though.
Mom captured a bit of a fall in the front driveway on film on Sunday – poor thing bonked her head pretty good, hence the red mark on her forehead during the official 15 month photos. Perhaps Dad shouldn’t play running games on the cement :( Prior to that we were having a blast playing with the leaves, which Eleanor loves to walk through and stomp.
