This week brought a few inches of snow on the ground, and we took the opportunity to bundle Eleanor up and take her out into the backyard (Sorry Henry – You’ll have to wait until next year…) It took about 15 minutes to get her all dressed up into her winter finest, and about 3 minutes outside before she’d had enough and wanted to come back inside. We did get a few cute pictures though. Henry had a few firsts this week, including taking a bottle and using a pacifier. The bottle was highly successful, the pacifier only lasted a few minutes. Both Eleanor and Henry went to their first birthday party for a “friend” – Zach our neighbor. He hosted the party at a play gym that Eleanor loved. Henry slept for a bit, and then cried for the rest.
Eleanor is picking up new words everyday it seems, adding “melt”, “rough” for example. I was pretty sure I heard her say “bye”, but Mom disagreed. Henry has been working on his sleep, and it is getting a bit more regular. He has given us a few 6-7 hour stretches at night, but other nights he is up every few hours. This weekend, I believe that Dad and Henry logged a total of about 8 hours sleeping on the gray couch – it’s a tough job, but I believe Dads should be actively involved in sleep training :)
