Grandma came into town for a quick visit this week. Grandma taught Eleanor lots of fun tricks, including putting the first letter of each person’s name on top of their photo, and saying “very pretty” when Monkey puts on a necklace. She taught Henry a new trick as well, how to hit the flower pot to make it keep playing music.
Eleanor has really enjoyed playing with her green ball this week, and also walking to and from the park instead of riding in the stroller. She also picked up from somewhere a new game called “fix the stroller” where she tips over her play stroller, takes a toy knife from her kitchen set, and pretends to take the wheel on and off to fix it.
Henry still hasn’t rolled over yet, and we only have one day left until his 6 month checkup – come on Henry! Mom and Dad don’t want to get the tummy time lecture again! Despite his lack of rolling over, Henry is really doing quite well with his tummy time, and holds his head up for long stretches, watching the activity around him. Mom and Dad try hard to entertain him, but Eleanor is really his favorite person to watch. Eleanor regularly drops off toys for him, and this week even sat down and read him a story. Henry is also getting better at supporting his own weight – especially when watching the trains go by, which really get him excited. Henry also had his first apples this week, which garnered about the same response as the bananas and pears. Hopefully soon he will start to like fruit.
