Henry turned seven months old this week! He has just about perfected his sitting, and is starting to try and roll over from back to tummy. He hasn’t quite made it yet, but he gets about 75% of the way there. Unfortunately, to get him to do that we have to tease him with a toy just out of reach, so I feel a little bad doing it over and over again. Henry tried solid banana for this first time tonight – although by the time Mom got it in his mouth, I’m not sure he could tell the difference from the pureed ones. Next time we’ll try a bigger piece. Just tonight Mom noticed a top tooth popping through – we’ll try to get a picture for next week!
Eleanor had a fun Saturday with two parties! The first was a birthday party for one of her music class friends, and the second was our annual condo party. She tried going into a bouncy castle for the first time, and liked it enough to go back in again by herself. Henry had fun at the condo party as well, mostly meeting a few of the dogs. On Sunday we had a fun trip out for breakfast at Einstein’s, but it was tempered a bit by a nasty fall that Eleanor had while walking on the sidewalk. Poor thing cut up her knee, and got a big bump on her head. She seemed to be feeling ok that afternoon, so we took a quick trip out to the park and she wore her bike helmet for the first time, while riding on the glide board behind the scooter. Eleanor continues to make lots of progress with her vocabulary and sentence structure, you can see her pausing as she puts together the words, in the right order, to express her feelings on all matter of subjects. Also, she can almost put her pajamas on all by herself – she just struggles a bit with the last arm, and the zipper at the top. Eleanor also started a new music class this week, which is mostly hands-off for Mom. The first one went really well, and Eleanor joined in on a bit of an impromptu game of follow the leader with some other kids.
